Al Lowenstein (born Alfred O. Lowenstein) served as the producer for Roseanne from Seasons 2-9 after Matt Williams, who also co-created the series with its star, Roseanne Barr, decided to depart the show after a falling out with her over which creative direction the series should take. Al, who served in his capacity for a total of 174 of the series 222 episodes, also produced such shows as UPN's Goode Behavior (which co-starred Sherman Hemsley, of The Jeffersons TV series fame, Dorien Wilson and actress Alex Datcher), two short-lived star-vehicle starred sitcoms, The Gregory Hines Show (which starred actor/entertainer Gregory Hines), and Norm (which starred George Wendt, of Cheers TV series fame), and The War At Home.
