Allan Stephan (born Allan Blasband in Burbank, CA) either wrote or contributed to the writing of 44 episodes of Roseanne form Seasons 1-9, also serving as co-executive producer for fourteen episodes in Seasons 8 and 9, beginning with the Season 8 episode titled "Mothers and Other Strangers", concluding with the series finale two-episode arc "Into That Good Night" parts 1 and 2. He also acted in five episodes, beginning with Season 8's "The Getaway, Almost".

Career[]

In addition to his work on Roseanne, Allan has also written scripts for the ESPN series Arli$$, The Roseanne Show, Roseanne Barr's talk show, Saturday Night Special, and served as a writer for comic Robert Wuhl, writing material for the concert films, the HBO special Assume the Position with Robert Wuhl (which he co-created with Wuhl}, Robert Wuhl's World Tour and as writer of three episodes of PBS's An Evening at the Improv.

Also a funny stand-up comic, Allan has headlined every major club in the country, and for six years played to sold-out casinos and arenas with the notorious Outlaws of Comedy starring late comedian Sam Kinison. He's also opened for many famous acts such as including Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, and Smokey Robinson.

Allan was nominated for a WGA Award in 2007 for his writing work on Assume the Position with Mr. Wuhl. He was also nominated two times for an NAACP Image Award and has been recognized with a Humanitas Certificate for his television writing contributions that enrich the human condition. Stephan’s writing work on TV pilots and specials along the way including some for MTV, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Sony.
