Bruce Helford was in involved in writing four episodes for Season 10 of Roseanne as well as seasons 1–4 of The Conners. He is also credited as the creator of The Conners.

He joined the show in Season 5 to serve as a executive producer, he exited the show after the season only to return in 2018 for the Season 10 revival to continue his executive producer role. He continued to serve as executive producer for the spin-off series entitled The Conners.
