Dave Caplan was in involved in writing for seasons 3 and 10 of Roseanne as well as seasons 1–3 of The Conners. He is also credited as the creator of The Conners.

He joined the show in Season 3 only to write a single episode, he returned to the show for the Season 10 revival, 28 years later. He would serve as co-executive producer during the season, but was later promoted to executive producer for the spin-off show entitled The Conners. Since his return to Roseanne, he has contributed to writing 12 further episodes.
