Joe, was Nana Mary's hard of hearing new husband who she brought with her to Thanksgiving 1994. He is portayed by actor Frank Smith IV.
About Joe[]
Joe says nothing in our time seeing him and is depicted as a decrepit old man who can't hear much and has trouble getting around. Beverly is baffled by her mothers decision to marry him causing her much frustration during the holiday visit.
After this singular appearance, Nana Mary never mentions him again.

The actor Frank Smith IV only ever had a few small bit parts in his career, one of which was in the 1986 film, True Stories, which featured John Goodman and another in the 1997 movie, That Darn Cat, which featured Estelle Parsons.
