Margaret "Meg" Wellman, sometimes referred to as just Mrs. Wellman, is a resident of Lanford and the former boss of Roseanne Conner at Wellman Plastics who made appearances as a minor character in 4 episodes of the 2nd season. She was portrayed by actress Debra Mooney.

Meg Wellman is the former boss of Roseanne Conner, Jackie Harris, and Crystal Anderson at Wellman Plastics, but despite this she always incorrectly refers to Roseanne as "Roxanne" even though she worked for her for 11 years. Mrs. Wellman is obsessed with her dog, Jacques, and pays little attention to anything or anyone else.
She is a regular customer at Art's Beauty Shop and is always treating the employers poorly with no consideration.
Later on, she has a car collision, running into Roseanne's car resulting in Roseanne having a neck injury that prevents her from working. Fearing being sued she consults her lawyer and does not contact Roseanne to apologize as it would be an admission of guilt. Later she attempts to buy Roseanne off with a check. Despite considering suing, Roseanne and Dan eventually accept the money after they realize they have no hope of hiring a competent lawyer to take on the Wellman's.

In the episode, I'm Hungry, she reveals that in her 30's she ate only turkey, chicken, and tuna.
She incorrectly refers to almost everyone she meets. She refers to Roseanne as "Roxanne" and Jackie as "Janet." When Roseanne introduces her to Dan in the episode, Fender Bender, Roseanne introduces Dan as "Don" to which Mrs. Wellman replies "It's nice to see you, Dan!" In this same episode it is revealed her full first name is "Margaret" when Jackie questions her about the car accident.
