Plot summary

Dan's visiting father, Ed Conner (Ned Beatty) astonishes everyone by announcing his plans to marry a much younger woman named Crystal Anderson (Natalie West).

Trivia

• Eddie gives the Connors a VCR although they were seen installing one in "Somebody Stole My Gal." - The VCR seen installed in this episode was Jackie’s VCR. Dan was supposed to be recording Jackie’s soap opera’s for her while she was at the police academy.
• When Crystal's blind date Donald asks Dan about the design of the Conner's kitchen. Dan says he didn't design it, and when asked who did design it, Dan responds, "Some guy named Garvin Eddy." Garvin Eddy is the production designer on a number of sitcoms, including Roseanne.
• D'Anne Avner appears as a woman in the coffee shop. She later appear as a customer in "Less is More" from Season 4.
