The Elks Lodge is the local social club of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) in Lanford, Illinois. Mostly referred to as "The Elks," the club is an American fraternal order originally founded as a social club in New York City in 1868 and stretching out to include chapters across the United States, mostly in the Mid-West. Its membership includes numerous prominent businessmen and their wives with a purpose of doing charity work and caring for its local veterans.
Every year, the chapter puts out a Halloween party or a haunted house for charity. Members Dan and Roseanne Conner were well known for incredibly elaborate horror costumes and acts to win the costume contests. Every year, Arnie Thomas appeared as the Ghost of Elvis Presley.
