Ty Tilden is the next door neighbor to the Conner Family in Season 5, after the Bowmans move out in Season 4. appearing in five episodes in total. He is the father of two daughters, Charlotte and Molly, He is played by actor Wings Hauser.
About Ty[]
Ty moves his family to Lanford after his job transfers him there from Iowa. Throughout his appearances, the Conners witness his youngest daughter Molly take advantage of his busy work schedule and relaxed nature while his older daughter Charlotte acts as an almost surrogate mother-figure in their family. Molly largely runs around doing whatever she pleases while her father remains mostly oblivious.
Not much is revealed about Ty until the episode, Lose a Job, Winnebago, when he asks Roseanne and Dan to watch their house while they take his RV to Branson, Missouri. They then decide to convince Ty to instead take a vacation with them to California so Roseanne can try and get on the television game show, The Price is right. During this trip, Ty attempts several times to flirt with and get to know Jackie to which she is non-receptive.
The Tildens moved out of The Bowmans old house, as they are eventually replaced by an elderly couple. Roseanne introduced herself in the same way that she did for Ty. More than likely what happened is that The Bowmans finally were able to find a buyer for their house: The elderly couple. As with most characters, nothing more is ever mentioned about their whereabouts again until we see Molly return during the season 3 episode of The Conners, An Old Dog, New Tricks and a Ticket to Ride.
